We saw so many beautiful places in St. Petersburg. This is just the beginning of the pictures we took.  It is an amazing city and these pictures do not do it justice. Just the first ones ready to post.  More to come......

All Around Our Neighborhood

Our home: Yartsevskaya ulitsa 27, k. 9, d. 31

A typical apartment building, 20+ stories.  Two more buildings being built in our neighborhood.  Moscow has 8,537 per square kilometer.  Although it is not even on the top ten list of population density in the world, it feels like everyone in the world is going to the same place!

That's a mall at the end of the street.  We grocery shop and eat out down there.

Power Station that heats all the water for the neighborhood.  The heat turns off for two weeks a year to clean out the pipes.

Bus parking lot on the way to the Metro

On the way to the Metro

The Metro is the gray, short building on the other side of the buses

A little park between the tall apartment buildings

Pigeons congregate near the Metro.  People do not believe in wasting bread and if they cannot use it, they bring it to the birds. The birds fly all around and then settle down again to the feast of bread people dump here.

Family Trip to Arches National Park

Rachael has been asking family members to go to the Utah parks with her for a year.  Sarah and Stephen and Mark and Hannah went to Arches with her.  It's a three hour drive from Orem and they left in the afternoon on a very hot day.  They had a wonderful hike, saw beautiful vistas, and Mark explored.  The day ended with a beautiful sunset and they drove home.  Another great day!

Monday, June 19th

My colleagues, Mark & Barb Taylor, are here in Moscow on their second OGC mission! Aren't they wonderful?  Mark just posted these great pictures on Facebook.  Here they are:

I gave a talk at the American Chamber of Commerce to the Education Committee today in a building that is close to White Square, an area with a beautiful white church that is near Metro Station Belorusskaya.  It was raining so hard that I got soaked to the bone! No umbrella because yesterday was so beautiful.  By the time I realized I needed one, it was too late to return home for one.  Then when Russ and I said goodbye to Michelle, who has been here since Friday, we came to work.  AS SOON AS we walked out of the Metro, it started pouring and pouring rain. This time I had an umbrella but the wind carried the rain all over the place.  So these pictures are great proof of the changeable weather in Moscow!

Sunday, June 18th

Happy Father's Day to Russ and all of my sons and son-in-law for being wonderful fathers!
Thank you for taking care of your families and loving them.  And serving them. And working hard for them. No Father's Day cards this year as it is not Father's Day here.  Proud of you all and the work that you are doing to create loving families.

It's been about four weeks since I last wrote.  So much has happened since then.  Here are some pictures of some of what has happened in order of when they occurred. As usual, more pictures than words.  (So much has happened that it took five hours to gather and post all these pictures!)  Enjoy!
